New American research: Vitamin D can reduce the risk of breast cancer

Vitamin D has long been known for its many health advantages. Now researches have made a new discovery suggesting higher levels of vitamin D might decrease the risk of breast cancer.
Researchers at University of San Diego School of Medicine collected data from 2002 – 2017 to study and examine the association between female breast cancer and vitamin D.
With the data collected from more than 4000 participants the researches found that higher vitamin D blood levels appeared to be important in the prevention of breast cancer and that the high level participants had a one-in-fifth risk of breast cancer compared to low level participants.
The main principal investigator and co-author concluded – “this paper reports the strongest association yet between serum vitamin D and reduction in risk of breast cancer”
